Dental pain can be all-consuming, and when it is such, it is quite frankly impossible to endure over an extended period! It can feel as if your entire being is focused on one tooth, distracting you from everything around you. It is understandable to require the services of an emergency dentist pronto when this happens to you. For all your emergency dental needs, we can help at Beyond Dental and Implant Center!

How do I get an emergency dentist appointment?

Dental emergencies are unsettling, and when you need an immediate appointment, it is sometimes difficult to know where to turn. If you are in such a situation, rest assured that our dentists at Beyond Dental and Implant Center will be happy to provide emergency care for you. The following are some situations or conditions that we consider dental emergencies:

• Gum or pulpal abscesses,
• Broken or cracked tooth
• Inflammation around the wisdom teeth, or Pericoronitis
• Pulpitis
• Dental cellulitis

Basically, if your teeth or gums are in any sort of unbearable pain, have lost a tooth, are bleeding from the mouth, or have an infection in your mouth, it is considered a dental emergency, and you should immediately make an appointment to see a dentist. Give us a call or book an appointment on our website!

What should I do if I have a dental emergency?

First, make sure there is no life-threatening risk to yourself or the person experiencing the dental emergency beyond the teeth. If there is, call 911 or go to the nearest emergency room. If your dental emergency is not life-threatening, you should make an emergency appointment to see a dentist as soon as possible. Our team at Beyond Dental and Implant Center, specifically Dr. Cory Nguyen, will treat your dental emergency with care and expertise. In the meantime, there are a few things you can do to alleviate pain and adequately care for your dental emergency:

• If there is any bleeding, make sure you stop the bleeding with gauze or a handkerchief of some kind.
• If you have lost a tooth, try to put the tooth back into the socket. If you are unsuccessful in doing so, make sure to keep it moist at all times by placing it in milk, a tooth preservation product, or in between your gums and cheek.
• For a toothache or cracked tooth, rinse your mouth with warm salt water and place an ice pack on your cheek to numb the area.
• If you have a gum or pulpal abscess, take anti-inflammatory medication and rinse your mouth with saltwater.
• With pericoronitis, rinse your mouth with salt water and make sure that there is no food trapped under the gum flap. Anti-inflammatory medication and topical pain relievers will also help.

How much does an emergency dentist cost?

That depends on the type of work that you require! If you require a root canal, the cost will likely be somewhere between $750 to $1,100, depending on whether it is a front tooth, molar, or premolar root canal. Tooth extractions without anesthesia generally cost between $75 to $300, while those with anesthesia cost anywhere from $200 to $600. We can go over prices when you come in for your emergency appointment.

We are happy to accept a wide variety of dental insurance plans! Our insurance and financial coordinator will be happy to go over the logistics of your coverage and copayments with you when you come in for your appointment.

While we require that you make a payment upon the completion of our services, we are open to accommodating flexible payment plans for major dental work. You can go over these with our financial coordinator when your treatment has finished. We will require a down payment at your first visit, but we can split up the rest of the payments over several months.

Let us be the solution to your dental emergency! Our expert dentists will provide excellent treatment for whatever is bothering you. Call us or book an appointment with us on our website.
